Our Rich History

Julius Seligman, son of Adolf Seligman, a German-Jewish immigrant, began selling what became known as the "original American gourmet cup of coffee" at the Hoboken Shipyards in 1910. Since then the Seligman Family has become connoisseurs of the world's finest quality coffees.

Here we see Julius Seligman listed as "Coffee Merchant". Working the docks of Hoboken Harbor, Jules learned which were the elite sources of Colombian coffee bean suppliers.

Under the direction of Richard Seligman, Seligmann's Gourmet Coffee remains steadfast to their original quality standards, producing the same consistent gourmet cup of coffee for over 109 years.
